Permanent Position - Marine Engineer (Motor Vessel, Class 4)

We have an immediate opening for a Marine Engineer on one of our vessels (home port Montreal). The candidate must be available to work on rotations of 28 days on board followed by 28 leave days (payed).

The fourth engineer is responsible for the operation and repair of all engine room machinery which will be assigned to him, in compliance with the chief engineer's orders.

Qualifications:
To hold a fourth engineer motor vessel canadian certificate
To hold a valid Transport Canada medical certificate
Autonomy, solution oriented, at ease in a group

Reliance Offshore is pleased to announce that we are once again partnering with Allseas on a major recruitment campaign. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved with Nova Scotia’s newest offshore project - Deep Panuke.
Allseas is one of the major offshore pipelay and subsea construction companies in the world. They will be operating several specialized vessels offshore Nova Scotia between July and December of 2009 and are looking for experienced crew to work onboard their vessels.

The Position

As Senior Technical Manager of fleet operations, you will report to the Marine Manager based in St. John’s, NL and will be responsible for the operational readiness of our fleet of vessels. You will assist with policy formulation and implementation as well as providing hands-on direction to line personnel on all technical issues.

Responsibilities
• Ensure that Container and Ro-Ro vessels are maintained
in the most effective and efficient manner;
• Ensure fleet compliance with respect to Classification,
Flag State, environmental regulations and safety standards;
• Analyse vessel operations and recommend
corrective action, as required;
• Prepare dry-dock specifications and actively supervise all
dry-dock operations;
• Take an active role in vessel replacement and
procurement projects;

Qualifications
• First Class Marine Engineer or equivalent;
• Minimum of 5 years experience as
Technical Manager or Superintendent;
• Strong organizational ability;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Bilingualism (English and French) is a definite asset.

Duties: As a member of the Shuttle Tanker vessel management team you are responsible for management of your respective department and ensuring operations and maintenance is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
